How information is used when you build a maintenance plan, request local help or submit a business form.

Maintenance plan information

When you activate reminders, we store the information needed to operate your schedule, including the plan manager’s email, optional additional reminder recipients, first names, a home name, U.S. ZIP code, ZIP-area city and state, assigned climate zone, home-profile selections, selected tasks and due dates. An account may manage more than one saved home and may also list homes where that email address receives shared reminders. Reminder schedules use the site's Netlify infrastructure and email is delivered through Resend.

Climate-zone and location processing

The planner uses the five-digit ZIP code to look up approximate ZIP-area coordinates and a county-based IECC climate-zone classification derived from U.S. Department of Energy and Pacific Northwest National Laboratory data. This determines the temperature zone and moisture regime used by the planner's fixed rule table. We do not ask for a street address or precise device location for climate assignment or weather alerts.

Home Hub records and document uploads

If you use the secure Home Hub, we may store maintenance-history entries, equipment or system details, saved-provider records and documents you intentionally upload, such as receipts, warranties, manuals, inspection reports or photos. Uploaded files are associated with the saved home and are intended to be accessed through the secure home link. If you create a read-only maintenance-history share link, anyone who has that temporary link can view the report and the documents included with it until the link expires. Do not upload sensitive documents you do not want stored with the home record.

Remembered dashboard access on this device

After you open a secure Home Maintenance Dashboard, this browser may store the secure dashboard URL locally so HomePlanza can show a convenient My dashboard shortcut on public pages and, when appropriate, associate a provider you save with the most recently opened home. This is a device/browser convenience, not a password-based login. Anyone who can use that browser profile may be able to use the remembered shortcut. You can remove it at any time from Home Settings using Forget dashboard access on this device; removing the browser shortcut does not delete the online home record.

Saved providers

The directory uses browser storage to remember businesses you save or compare. When you open a secure Home Hub, saved providers from that browser may be copied into the home record so they can stay with the rest of the home information. You can remove saved providers from the Home Hub.

We do not sell your personal information

Email addresses and home-plan details are used to create and manage the services you request, including reminder emails, optional weather-aware alerts, confirmations, account links and recipient invitations. HomePlanza does not sell or rent homeowner email addresses or personal information to advertisers, contractors or data brokers.

Maintenance emails and local provider options

Maintenance emails always keep the home-care content first. Relevant local help can appear afterward for free homeowner plans nationwide. A matching professional-selected provider appears first when the plan uses one; otherwise an eligible claimed HomePlanza profile or clearly labeled featured advertisement may appear, followed by a link to live provider search for the task and home location. You can stop the maintenance email schedule at any time using the secure plan-management or unsubscribe link in each message.

Plans prepared for another homeowner

A real estate agent, home inspector, property manager or other home professional may use the planner to prepare a draft for a homeowner. In that case, we collect the preparer's first name, business or organization name, business email and role along with the homeowner information needed for the proposed plan. The homeowner receives a one-time invitation and recurring reminders do not begin until the homeowner accepts. After acceptance, the homeowner's email is the primary account email and controls the plan. The preparer does not receive homeowner account-editing access.

Professional accounts and subscriptions

Professional accounts are separate from homeowner maintenance dashboards. We store the professional's email address, required first name, optional last name, business, profession, phone number, profile image, private provider names and contact details, optional provider notes, client-plan identifiers, plan-specific recommendation selections, authentication records and subscription status. A password is required to create a professional account, but only a salted password hash is stored. Password-reset links are time limited and single use. Stripe processes subscription payments and provides HomePlanza with identifiers, status and billing dates; HomePlanza does not store full payment-card numbers.

Client privacy and preferred providers

A professional dashboard shows only the limited status information needed to manage invitations the professional prepared, such as the home label, homeowner name or email, invitation status and created date. It does not give the professional access to the homeowner's private dashboard, maintenance history, documents, equipment records, later edits or completed-task records. While a professional subscription is active, the professional can select up to three saved contacts for each matching maintenance reminder or supported weather-alert type. Those selected recommendations can appear regardless of the client's location. If no professional recommendation is selected, the ordinary nationwide local-help section can link to eligible HomePlanza profiles and live provider search for the home.

A professional may privately enter a company name, individual contact, phone number, email address, website and a short note. Setup can also search Google Places by provider type and location. Selecting a result retrieves public business details to prefill the form, but the provider is not stored until the professional reviews and explicitly saves it. Saved details are visible only inside that Professional account and in relevant recommendation emails sent to clients whose plans use that contact. They do not create or modify a public directory profile and are not shared with other Professional accounts.

Professional profile images

A professional may upload a JPG, PNG or WebP image for the branded card shown in client emails. The image is stored with the professional account and can be replaced or removed from the professional dashboard. Do not upload an image you do not have permission to use.

Business, quote-matching and homeowner forms

Information submitted through profile claims, quote-matching requests, advertising-interest forms and directory city requests is used to review and respond to those requests. A directory city request includes the email you provide, any optional name, and the city or cities you ask us to consider so we can evaluate demand and contact you if coverage is added. A quote-matching request can include your contact information, project description, timing, budget information you choose to provide and the directory businesses you selected for consideration. Public business profile information may be published after review.

Google Places searches and public business information

When you search the nationwide provider directory, HomePlanza sends the selected service and the ZIP code or city and state you enter to Google Places and displays the returned public business information as a separate live-results group. HomePlanza does not copy those live results into its public directory. During Professional setup, a selected result can be retrieved again to prefill public business details; only the contact the professional explicitly saves is retained in that private account. HomePlanza may retain a Google Place ID for a saved or matched business where needed to identify the place, but does not permanently store live search-result lists. Google content remains subject to the Google Privacy Policy and the Google Maps Platform Terms.

Weather-aware home alerts

If you choose weather-aware home alerts, we use the U.S. ZIP code, approximate ZIP-area coordinates and National Weather Service forecast-zone identifiers saved with the maintenance plan to decide whether an active official alert may create a useful home-care reminder. We do not ask for a street address or precise device location for this feature. The plan manager can change weather-alert settings. A person receiving shared reminders can stop their own access, which removes that address from the home’s recipient list and notifies the plan manager.
